There will always be people like that unfortunately, like the low life scum who stole my bank details and went on a spending spree with my debit card for example

You cant let people like that get you down though, we can offset them by being kind, honest and decent people.

Nothing wrong with that, but personally I'd also recommend extreme security measures and, where possible, retaliation. Not that the latter would be possible in this specific case, I mean generally. If I ever catch the rotter who broke into my house and stole my guitar, his butt will wish it had never been born.

most sociopaths will force one to go nuclear on them as they won't quit trying to beat you until they are themselves thoroughly beat.

Because of their own pain within themselves, they are unable to deal with.

"Why do some people choose to be horrible than kind ?"

Nietzche would have probably said: "The will to power."
The desire to dominate, to be in control, is part of the human psyche.
Natural diversity and social conditioning moderates or enhance this desire.

And then there is body/organic chemical reactions, as has been mentioned by Jorden Peterson, in regard to the lobster hierarchical dominance model.
In essence:
Organic chemical junkies.

^^ Good stuff, Pepe.
Just as Ma Nature endows us with different amounts of AS, she also has random volume controls on basic greed vs altruism, and on empathy, sympathy, and so on. Someone with a lot of greed and empathy but no sympathy can easily control others, and won't hesitate to. When we lived in small groups and everyone knew them, they couldn't do as much damage as they do now, with vast fortunes at stake. Being extra nasty is one way to get more, and to try to feel safe from retaliation.

at least one anthropologist said it is highly likely that ancient peoples ganged up on sociopaths and exiled them from their communities, Otzi the frozen man was likely one such character.

Certainly, that happened with some of them, but others had more sense, and waited for a crisis with opportunity. Then, we have a tendency to follow psychopaths, because they are ruthless enough to save half a village, when more sentimental leaders would dither trying to save everyone, and losing too many.
