I was searching for something on my computer and came across a small book titled:
Coping: A Survival Guide For People With Asperger Syndrome by Marc Segar

It was an interesting little book written by an Aspie about the problems he had being an Aspie in an NT world. Anyways I liked it and thought others might also, so I am providing a link:

Thanks for sharing. Did just read it. There is on statement I think he is wrong.

"People who are able to stand out and be popular at the same time are said to have
charisma. This is a gift which some people have but not others and it can often
involve having a very accurate understanding of what is going on around you. It is
popular belief that you can only have charisma if you were born that way but in the
case of Asperger Syndrome this statement is not applicable."

If it comes to this it's a question of the way that you are. The advantage of people with Aspergers is that you are honest. If they are looking in your eyes they wont find hidden emotional calculations and for guys it's an important thing because men were all times likely to kill each other but also had to stand together towards any kind of enemies. People like me are able to stay outside of groups of guys but are well liked by them. Many straight guys seem to like and accept me as a friend in a strange way.

Thank you for sharing. Amazing how he wrote it out at such a young age. Took me decades to figure most of that stuff out. I hope this can help younger aspies to learn some of the skills more quickly than it took me to learn.
