I guess I have no heroes in my life. I learned fairly recently why you should never meet your heroes. Plus some rabid fanclubs can potentially ruin your heroes for you.

re-adjust your definition of "hero" and you will have better luck. read what i wrote about it, por favor heroes have feet of clay like the rest of us, they are not impeccable, but they do something very important for people outside of their normal circle. that is a working definition of "hero" as well.

my cousin Y used to be my role model/hero since we were 2 and 3. I realized a few years ago... she is just as flawed as anyone else.
she comes off as an intelligent, kind, ethereal, perfect, serene being. like the aura they try to convey of the elf Arwen (<<liv tyler acting as) in that movie.
even adults looked up to her, like my dad kept telling me to be like her. and elder people would defer to her opinion on any subject.
one cousin -- who was born a psychopath i think, but extremely cute-- even SHE was in awe of her and respected her. and listened to her. even though she respected and listened to nobody else ever in her entire life and could hoodwink anyone and do anything without limits.
i admired her so much that, when XH began calling and visiting, i kept saying to go marry her instead as i felt he was too good for me. even in tears.
i could spend ages praising her to him. what a nutjob i must've come off as.
I feel like you underestimate the sort of 'catch' you appear to be.
On topic: Emma Goldman is as close as anyone. Westside, Conway and Benny because they've made their dream happen.

As a quite successful band from my hometown once said:" my family is full of heroes."
But for someone people might know, I have to go with Christopher Hitchens (RIP). Author, journalist, recovered Marxist, contrarian, orator and dialectic heavyweight brawler.

There are no people I admire, look up to or am inspired by.
There are some whose actions I appreciate. For instance, those who work to save endangered species or help animals in need. It's great and appreciated, but it still doesn't make me see them as heroes or admire them, I just like what they do. I'm glad there are vets and electricians and garbage men and every other profession we need for a functional society, but it doesn't make me admire them or feel inspired by them.
I absolutely see my mother as an everyday hero, soldiering on in spite of stuff. I respect her of course and love her more than anything or anyone, but does it inspire me?
I do admire the tenacity of animals. Giving up isn't an option for them, they soldier on and try again. Just try working with a dog, you might give up, think a task is hopeless, but the dog is always up for trying again, search on or whatever the task is. Animals are can be inspiring

She went through the Ricky and Morty phase along with the "Regular show", "Stephen's universe", "Ben 10", "uncle grandpa" and her all time fave :Adventure time"
Somebody told me today Let slip in a casual way Nobody seemed to care anycase I didn't realise, I turned away
Somebody told me today And though my mind was miles away Slowly the pain welled inside As I realised he'd died
Take no heroes, only inspiration And if you learn nothing from his life Learn this from his death The man may die but his dream survives I headed out, walked the town Staring sick & lonely Strange faces passed And they didn't know...
I wanted to tell them so but Oh the rain beat hard & cold A finer truth hit hard Took hold
Take no heroes, only inspiration And if you learn nothing from his life Learn this one thing The man may die The man may die but his dream survives Take no heroes Take no heroes Take no heroes
No way I could explain No one to explain it to anyway But a tearful misery's a sorry legacy And this is not the time for sad obituaries The rain beat hard and cold
Learn this thing Take no heroes Take no heroes Take no heroes Take no heroes
The man may die The man may die The man may die But he's dream survives Take no heroes

Bonding with her over that kind of thing and especially over humour and inside jokes in general has a good chance of making you her "hero": I speak from experience

You should never meet your heroes cause people build them up to e this larger than life mythical figure which they aren't. And you are inevitably going to be disappointed. They aren't superheroes just ordinary flawed human beings. (unless they are )
