Actually, HFA is probably not "milder" than Asperger's.

People with HFA have "classic autism"----but they are relatively "higher functioning."

People with Asperger's might have very little in the way of symptoms of "classic autism."

It could be that people with HFA might have better social skills, but they might not understand what is legal, but only if it is related to lack of social skills. The question of mena rea comes in to mind when it comes to lack of social skills that may in rare cases lead some people into commiting crimes.

Since I have much better social skills, even though I have HFA, It is easy for me to commit crimes. But I have morals, I am however am afraid that I might get confused and commit some crimes related to my lack of social skills and repetitive patterns of behaviors.

I don't know why it's called "HFA" then, I thought having HFA means having milder symptoms of ASD.

Most crimes are either "crimes of impending need," or "crimes of opportunity."

It doesn't take autism for one who is starving to steal food.

To me, most crime is related to drug or alcohol addiction.

I got confused when Prof. Sam Vaknin said "People with high-functioning autism lack empathy and engage in criminal behaviors. Are they psychopaths? Narcissists?", because statistics point out that most people with ASD are ten times more likely to be victims and five times less likely to commit crimes than the general population. But I believe what he said about HFA and crime, because he always says in his videos that he is a professor of psychology. I also saw him teaching students in universities.

I am sorry, I am just so confused.

This professor person, as far as I'm concerned, lives squarely in the "Ivory Tower."

He doesn't know what truly goes on amongst actual people.

I have an interesting question. What does "shoddy" mean to you?

one example is in the youtube synopsis, he gives a link to the amazon page for this own book for sale, but no links for the studys he is relying on. He does mention what they are at the end of the vid, but its kind of a PIA for anyone who wants to dig.

Im reliant on library computers for a few more days and cant research this like id like to, and have to go now till tomorrow.

But now it is real interesting for me, and ill be back.

actually at the end it is a small reading list, not references.

Not sure if this is Dr Phil's "Aspen"

There no support link between most ASD and crime, but for some reason there is a reason to support the link between HFA and crime.

HFA is a form of Autism that is milder than Asperger Syndrome.

the reason seems to me a witch hunt.

The idea that autistics lack empathy is way more complex than Sam presents, and is probably flat out wrong.

True, but I find Sam way more tolerable than the typical tower job

I think we should edit this Wikipedia page about HFA and crime. I will do more research about it and see if there is any connection, because what Wikipedia and the professor said about HFA and crime is very confusing. I will change it on Friday.

This is the second of his videos I have come across. I didn't get far into this one before I realized he was talking nonsense. The first one I watched all the way through before coming to the same conclusion.
