Glad to hear it.

I had a major problem getting up for skool.
I absolutely hated that place.
I even dreamed of getting up and getting dressed.

I didn't have a problem getting up for work, however, even with the gang-stalking problem, however.

Used to.
But 20+ years in the military with cure you of that...REAL QUICK.
Now it's habit to be out of bed seconds after the alarm goes off.

no matter what shift i am sleeping, i HATE getting up out of my nice warm comfy cozy sleep number bed, and it takes extreme and protracted effort for me to leave it. i especially hated it when i was in the rat race and i hadda get up at 0-dark-thirty and i would have difficulty falling asleep the night before work, i'd toss and turn and have work nightmares, then i'd finally sleep soundly just before the fkkking alarm rudely jolted me awake. i got adrenal exhaustion from decades of that, esp. from rotating shifts.

As a kid, I found it nearly impossible to get up early. I'd get in trouble for being late for school all the time...had my own seat in the principal's office because of that for a year or two.

Now? Eh, for the last few weeks it's been hard for me to get up early. The time change has me messed up, but I was also sick awhile back and am still feeling the impact of that...I get tired easily these days and require at least twelve hours of sleep a day to be able to function. I have no idea how that thing I got wasn't covid for the lasting impact of it, but the tests said it wasn't covid.

But normally, I have an internal alarm clock that gets me up between 5am and 5:30 am, usually. If I'm deviating from that it's because I'm up before 5am. I prefer getting up early. I have time to just sit, take my time waking up, relaxing, not feeling rushed for the day. I have plenty of time to exercise in the morning, clean up a bit, walk the dog, and so on. I hate feeling rushed, and having so much time so early benefits me like that. I miss having that time these days.

I find that "not wasting the day" or "getting things done early so I have the rest of the day for myself" is a very common explanation for why people get up early, not just in this thread but among people in general. However, I feel like the idea that the day "starts" in the morning is sort of a social construct, especially now that most of us aren't farmers and we aren't dependent on the Sun for light. Time continues going all around the clock while morning people are sleeping and night owls are getting things done. Sometimes, we might get things done before you by doing them the night before! ;) :D

For most of the early mornings in the UK it is cold and dark. As much as I love the sunrise and the morning atmosphere, getting up when the sun rises (or beforehand) just seemed to make me anxious. Early sunrise is actually the coldest part of the whole day, believe it or not, and the frost and dew on the grass just made me shiver and want to crawl back into bed.

I used to get so frustrated with my alarm on my phone for going off when I was sleeping really soundly and comfortably. The poor phone was only doing its job. But I resented it at the time. Then one morning it decided to mess with me and not go off even though I had set it properly like always, and I got angry with it for not going off. So the phone was probably very confused.

It’s hard to go to bed before midnight, I need sleep support pills to sleep. In the mornings, it’s very hard getting up, 9AM seems too early. When I woke up, my eyelids don’t open up, I have trouble opening them up, is this not normal?

I used to find it hard to get up early as a kid, but now that my insomnia has gotten worse I'm so used to being tired that it doesn't bother me anymore.

I'm an extreme evening person.
I cannot get any quality work done before noon and often it's around 10 pm or so that I really get inspered.
So I very seldom manage to get to bed before midnight.
Unfortunately, lately I have started waking up too early for my taste, around 6 am.
Paired with my difficulties falling asleep, it has made me quite sleep deprived.
