This is one pattern that I always look upon, the famous "No Signal" TV test pattern.

For almost 4 years, I had been manipulating the Test Pattern, trying out all sorts of stuff and seeing most of this in a different form. I do this because no one seems to do it and it's extremely fun to do.

Fun to do! I was born in 1951, we got our first TV about 1954, didn't get color until early 1970s. I have seen loads of test patterns in the past. TV surely has changed from its very early days.

I have always been obsessed with the working behind the media on the screen as well and like seeing test patterns (if you enjoy this sort of thing you may like a lot of Ryoji Ikeda's work who actually has an album called Test Pattern), or watching computer systems boot/malfunction especially in odd places like advertising screens or arcade machines in public. I've always enjoyed media from a strange perspective like that and it's hard to explain besides that acknowledging the digital world running the show gives everything a lot more depth.
