Hi all,
I'm looking for autistic people aged 16-30 to complete a survey for my research into autism strengths, social identity and wellbeing. I wanted to do this research because I’ve noticed how much focus there has been on the difficulties associated with autism, and less about the strengths which I’d like to explore about more. We hope to use the findings to develop clinical interventions to support autistic people to overcome stigma and discrimination and develop a balanced view of autism. I’ve worked with members of the autism community (including autistic researchers) to help me with the development of this research project. I think this is a really important and interesting topic – what do you think?

Below is the link to the anonymous survey involving some questionnaires and a brief video about different features of autism. It should take roughly 20-30 minutes to complete in total. There is also an optional prize draw for £50 voucher!

If you’d like to read more about the study or participate, please click in this link: https://bathpsychology.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1BJyEcydvj270uq

Please feel free to get in touch directly if you have any questions/thoughts about the study or this area of research generally.

Thank you so much for your attention! :)
Claudia

Unfortunately, I'm 32 so I don't meet participant criteria.

Ah that's a shame! Thanks for having had a look anyway :)
Perhaps if you know of other people who might be interested (and eligible) please do feel free to spread the word.
I'm always happy to hear from anyone with any questions/thoughts/ideas about this research topic.

How does this survey tie in with "Experience Management"?

"The essence of modern management is to make individual strengths productive, and individual weaknesses irrelevant."
- Peter Drucker

I had outstanding technical talents, but am still about kindergarten level socially. I don't think the talent would have survived the process of becoming well-rounded, and I'd just have been miserable, since faking anything kills me inside. What I needed was a matchmaker to find me a few close friends/partners who could let me specialize, and handle most of the dealing with the public. I can tell people how to save millions of dollars, but I can't figure out how to do it without making them look stupid, so I need to get a feelings mechanic involved as well so we can both get paid.

Thanks for sharing. :) It's interesting to think about the challenges some people might have around trying to protect/preserve their specialist skills and strengths...

^^ There were a few years where I didn't want to write up my research, because I was using that undone chore as a reason to stay alive.
