That's also true of mental illness, but there's a stigma attaching mental illness to crime in some contexts.
I'd say there's bigger stigma connecting crime and mental illness than crime and ASD, further I'd say if the ASD = criminal notion exists it's probably mostly within people who also think ASD = mental illness and mental illness = crime.
