I wonder if Autism Spectrum Disorder can be a precursor to Schizotypal Personality Disorder, because I meet some diagnostic criteria for odd beliefs, lack of many friends and paranoid ideation.

Possibly. It wouldn't surprise me if Autism could lead to that.

ASD can me co-morbid with many conditions. Why must it be one or the other? You could be both or neither.

@FranzOren: You ask a lot of questions that should be asked of an appropriately-trained and license mental-health professional.  AFAIK, no one here is qualified to answer such questions.  Of course, you could also consult the  NIMH Website , but digging around there might take some real effort on your part.
