Do you tend to ruminate over things?

I don't know of it's due to autism or something else, but I've had a tendency to ruminate over things for as long as I can remember.

I often get things stuck in my head, and then I can't stop thinking about them. It gets frustrating when it happens with things that stress me out or make me uncomfortable.

Ruminating also makes me really stubborn and persistent sometimes, and it can be very distracting, even when what I'm thinking about isn't upsetting me.

Do you mean dwelling on past events in life?

How do you, the one who started the thread, define rumination?

Yes I ruminate a lot and hold intense long term grudges

Rumination could also involve obsessive compulsive disorder

I ruminate over things a lot. If something happens. I'll ruminate over it for a long time.

Yes, even something I see on the news, if it annoys me, it will just keep going around in my head for hours, days or even weeks.

When I "ruminate" over something it means that I can't get the topic out of my head and I repetitively think about it. My mind will keep coming back to it, even if I try to focus on something else. It doesn't have to be about stressful things or bad events, either. I just noticed that my brain tends to "ruminate" a lot over almost anything that catches its attention.

Where is the problem?
You need a problem in order ro have a solution?
Or perhaps this is not a problem for you at all?

I don't really know what you mean. I was just wondering if other people on here ruminate a lot...

I do sometimes. I didn't do it when I was younger and I only do it when I'm on my own with no distractions. It actually gives me a headache so if I catch myself ruminating on one thing then I try and find something to do to make it stop.

I have ADHD so it's more like concurrent ruminations.
There's usually about 100 whirlpools happening simultaneously in my brain.
None of them are ever related to the present time.

They're also triggered by synasthaesia.
Any colour, smell, texture, etc., can remind me of something from 50 years ago.
