Does anyone have stims? Stims, or odd forms of self-STIMulatory behavior can include hand twisting, rocking, flapping, arm or leg extensions, stretches, masturbation, etc.

As a matter of fact, one of the diagnostic criterias (which doesn't have to be met in order for a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome), is:

"stereotyped and repetitive motor mannerisms (eg: hand or finger
flapping or twisting, or complex whole-body movements)"

We Aspies often "shed" our stims.

Does anyone have any stims, or know of anyone with stims, who would like to share information or personal accounts?

sometimes i hit my knee like knocking on a door over and over again. othertimes ill pinch my middle finger and thumb together and with my pointer finger relaxed ill shake my arm and slap my pointer finger against my thumb and middle finger making a snapping sound. it sounds alot like snapping but is totally different. i do like masturbating and do it all the time. no one knows what you like exept you. f**k having sex thats another story. i also make squeel noises and mimic my mom. especially when we shop for food. 8)

Yes, I've found that I sometimes change stims a lot, stop using some but picking up new ones. Sometimes I'll go back to ones I stopped doing a while ago (like bouncing my knees - i stopped for a while but am doing it again).

I kick things and violently tap my feet. My hands are CONSTANTLY moving. I kick things like
the area in front of car seats and the inside of kitchen counters.

I am able to control these stims in public, but when I can't, I disguise them as normal behavior
such as stretching.

While sitting, I often unknowingly become very noisy due to kicking things.

I am currently stimming, and decided to post this. I am shaking my head back and forth while tapping the right side of my left foot.

9. lip popping
10. swaying (while standing)

I like to run around the house with my arms spread out like an airplane, sometimes waving them like i am a bird.

this could be the ADHD, though.
