I was haphazardly diagnosed with AS, but the guy was rushing a bit, thus a bit of a screw-up, so I don't know about that. The second shrink I see that's assessing me will probably diagnose me with depression; he put me on citalopram after all and said my depression was very severe, that it was getting in the way of my ability to see reality, that there were definitely signs of depression on the Rorschach test, and he agreed to give me a letter for social services so I could have a few months off work for the antidepressant to start working, so I'll probably get that diagnosis.

EDIT: OMG; I'm such a ditz. Once again, I forgot to press the button to add the last option, which is "diagnosed with neither", because I thought that would make a fifth blank option. There; fixed.

I am diagnosed with "mild depression" + "Textbook AS".

So both in other words.

Impressive site (Impressive French!)

Do tell me though; what does a Brit understand by "Textbook AS"?

I am diagnosed with depression and AS.
My depression is not as severe as it used to be though. Now it's probably only mild.

I was diagnosed with depression years and years ago. Then bipolar, about 8 years ago. Then Aspergers, only about 2 years ago.

Dysthymia (mild, chronic depression)...built to last and withstand the test of time!

Not actually depression, bipolar (but of course depression is part of that). I'm not sure what I was diagnozed with when I was 15 and my mother brought me to see the psychiatrist because of pre-exam stress - I never saw my medical card, but I was prescribed Prozac, so it must've been depression.

I probably have some kind of depression. It runs in the family. I just don't drink as much, yet.

Both, although it is possible in my case that the depression is brought on by all the hassle of being an AS sufferer.

Wow, what is with all this use of 'sufferer' when it comes to AS? You suffer from a disease or an illness, AS is neither. I don't suffer from AS, I have it but I don't suffer from it, it is a challenge to me and it's one I intend to deal with and face. Not sit back and suffer. That's just my opinion.

I have AS, ADHD, moderate "Clinical" Depression and Generalize Anxiety Disorder myself. Some of the depression and anxiety ties into likely the AS and ADHD, but those are the official dx. labels I've been given.

I wasn't diagnosed with either one, but I suspect I have AS. I also have anxiety at certain times.
