Magnesium+Vitamin B6 supplement is changing my life
Ok, so. A user here on WP mentioned the neurotransmitter glutamate as the culprit for autism. I decided to search a bit on the subject and there seems to be some substantial research that positively correlates a dissbalance between glutamate levels and GABA levels with autism. Then surprisingly enough there seemed to be a treatment that according to research is effective to about 50% of autistic people. That is magnesium for blocking the access of glutamate to the brain cells and vitamin B6 for boosting the production of GABA. Holy s**t I thought to myself, I'd never come across a possible treatment with such a high percentage of efficacy. I searched online for what autistic people themselves had to say about it and they where very positive about the results. So I gave it a try with the lowest possible level of expectations. I was expecting to see a mild change on the long term at best. But! Next day I arrived at work, I met the first person and BAM for the first time in my life I made a sustaining eye contact and it felt great. I couldn't wait until I met the others. And BAM, eye contact after eye contact again and again. Also the tone of my voice had changed. It was louder, clearer and firm. It was like I was living the best dream I've ever seen. I sat for lunch opposite the new girl and I started talking to her. Now she talks to me and she is smiley and she likes me. Similarly with others. I had a colleague who was rather hostile to me for apparently no reason and now we are getting along well. I even went out and my socialising experience was great. People addressed me and looked me in the eye while smiling. It was great. I also had a narcissist try to bully me and it backfired so badly for him, just like that. I did not hit him back, I was just somehow able to deflect his attacks without being aggressive. I can see him being visibly insecure in my presence but I treat him kindly because it is obvious that he is suffering inside. I'm already changing my plans for the future regarding my career. There are many many things that I did this last month that I never thought I was able to do.
P.S. To the user that has mentioned the glutamate theory for autism, if you are reading this, thank you so much bro.
Those two things seem unlikely to do any harm. Safe upper limit for B6 is said to be 100mg/day. It's 350mg/day for magnesium, with a warning or two about certain drug interactions, chiefly biphosphonates and antibiotics.

Good if you're doing better. Let us know if the benefits continue.
I tried Epsom Salt baths for a time, but didn't notice any changes - and transdermal Mg absorption is a myth according to the science, though obviously if you take Mg internally then that's a very different thing.
Dengashinobi, That is great!! I am so happy for you! Unfortunately, those supps didn't work for me in that way, but I am thrilled that they are helping you. I do take magnesium and Bvitamins regularly though because they do help me be healthy in other ways. But I am really happy for you.

Epsom Salt is Mg? Wow I didn't know that.
My methyl-B6 is 33.3 mg but I'm allowed to take three per day so that makes sense.
I don't remember to take it every day anyway.

Yeah, the good thing with magnesium and vitamin B6 is that they have virtually no side effects. They are absorbed perfectly by the body.
Also I have to mention that there are several kinds of Mg and that apparently they work differently for each individual. There are also different forms by which you can take it. I'm using water soluble tablets. Apparently in this way Mg and B6 are absorbed better by the body. It's also friendlier for the stomach.
Sure I will update from time to time.

Because I 've tried other products and they didn't work quite as well for me. Only this particular brand is having such a positive effect. Autistic traits are still there but greatly reduced. I'm planing to continue searching for other products and fine tune my intake of Mg and B6 for possibly even better resaults.

Hi Dengashinobi - what type of magnesium do you take?
i.e. citrate, oxide, glycinate etc, you`ll see the name in the ingredients on the side

Interesting and congrats, I'm happy for you.
I've taken B vitamins and magnesium off and on with no discernible differences, except for magnesium seems to make me sleepy.

Congratulations that you have found something that works.
Be careful with vitamin B6 as too much can cause irreparable nerve damage.
You may know if you start getting pins and needles sensation in your fingers or feet to reduce dosage straight away, happened to me with b6 a few years ago when I was trying different stuff fortunately stopped in time and went away.

Thank you everyone for your good wishes. This is so heart-warming to me. I hope this serves as an inspiration for others to give it a try and that others will benefit too.
carlos55 thank you for your advise. I will keep that in mind. Luckily I'm currently way under the max limit of B6 intake.

Carlos55, good to hear you were able to avoid long-term effects from too much B6. Can I ask which form you used (PHP?), the dose, and the duration for which you had been taking it before stopping?
