I don't think mine really comes out when I type.

Yours doesn't either... if I had seen your posts on another board, I would have assumed you were a typical depressed NT thug... very NT, since you aren't stickler for grammar or intellectual talk or precision. :) Or rather, :P

Every now and then, it comes out with me. about 10 years ago it would have been more obvious. It is a pity I didn't retain the style I had 15 years ago. My grammar certainly used to be better as well. Still, I HATE ebonics, double negatives, misuse of pronouns as objects, incorrect word order, adjectives as adverbs, etc... Even absurd mispronunciations make me sick. With all the foreigners, and my "keeping my peace" to not insult people, I just don't say anything. Meanwhile, my grammar suffers even more.

As for mispronunciations? I work around many people that speak about "data mining". Sounds logical! My industry DOES do data mining, but THEY don't know about it! THEY don't do it! The grammar is all messed up! It took me a while to find out what they meant! The term was NOT "data mining"! It was "determining"! If I mispronounce a hindi word a LITTLE wrong, they will laugh, and I am NEW to the language. Meanwhile, they supposedly studied English for DECADES, and don't care about the pronounciation. Still, I have to keep quiet. 8-(

I'm a little nuts about grammar, punctuation, etc.

This site is a resource for aspies trying to exacerbate their condition (see what I mean).

"Ygsgphakjghpahjahripughajngf;aouhrgjbas;uhvansdkvh;nefsodh"

Just type a few messages like this... really its liberating!

Not really, but when I'm with other people with AS IRL it really, really, shows.

Yes.

Ironically, it was because I was a "weirdo" (aka "loser") even on the internet, someone actually made the connection and told me about Aspergers!!

Probably; my somewhat silly stubbornness to hold on to a point till people probably get fed up with discussing certain things, I can write a novel in short time if someone gets me going on a point of contention that my sarcastic mind has latched onto.

I need not hide behind the rhyme like a true mime no more as I’m comfortable with the words that are mine.

Give me a phone line and I’m a completely different person (i.e., I suck); that's if I can talk to you that is.

Yeah, whenever I type on the net, even in chat, I always try to use fairly correct English, except for when I'm using colloquialisms like "kinda" or modern variations to the language.

I don't care how other people express themselves... Though I get frustrated when I have to read long posts without paragraph breaks.

There are some shortcuts I use, even though I know they're grammatically incorrect. For example...

"I do find it irritating when someone on the net picks up on typos and spelling mistakes in someone else's posts. It just seems rude and it makes me want to pick apart everything they've posted, make a list of their mistakes and post it for them."

You see, all the underlined words in that last statement are incorrect, as I'm only talking about one person, so... The line should be written as "It just seems rude and it makes me want to pick apart everything he or she has posted, make a list of his or her mistakes and post it for him or her." In this case, I prefer being wrong.

Nope.

(However, I only stalk one person around these parts; if you speak of your "interests" and "obsessions" to the point of vexation in a thread I haven't seen; change "nope" to "yup".)

I'm also a grammar nerd. :) I always check my posts before I submit them. When I was in my primary school and we were writing by dictation, I always got 6 - the highest grade in schools here. Mistakes made by someone else don't disturb me but I hate doing it myself. Anyway, if you hate bad grammar so much, inform me if you see something like that in my posts  I hate making mistakes. Few days ago I mispronounced the word "viper" during my teacher practice and I am still blushing when I recall this :? I just started my teacher practices and now it's ok in spite of the fact that my first lesson was simply HORRIBLE 8O about which I have already written something in "Random discussion" section ----> http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... ic&t=43285

I don't know whether it does or not.
I am frequently prone to making careless typing mistakes and reversing my letter.
I frequently go back and correct myself...but not always...it gets freustrating after a while.
Probably the ADDer in me comes out, as I tend to ramble and stray from topics and whatnot...

and....is the only puctuation I ever use, save for the occasional ?
It is a bad habit I picked up from a writer I really liked.

I am a grammar geek. I'm also a stickler when it comes to spelling. I also hate grammatical errors and mispronunciations, especially strange ones that make the speaker sound nuts. I hate extra letters placed in words ("anyways" for "anyway." I can't even stand when people use words like anyway, um, er, and uh, which are hole fillers.)

Yes, I am obsessed. I started school speaking a language other than English and watch everything I say or write as well.
