Family originally Irish, but been in Scotland 3 generations. I have a serious envy of the Indigenous Central American, especially Mayan.

Same, except I am fith Gen, my kids are 6th, old great great (...) grand folks came over on the JAne Gifford in the 1840's...

Got the same heritage as you but thrown in some souhtern spanish, and the moorish blood from that reagion, and maybe remove the welsh, but with Irish and Scotish a bit of welsh has to be in there some where,

With enough records I could probably trace my Spanis/Moorish blood back to Judea circa AD 0.

On the night of 10th July 1985 Rainbow Warrior had already been in Auckland Harbour for three days, preparing for a protest voyage to the French nuclear test site at Moruroa Atoll.

Only days later French Prime Minister Fabius admitted that their Secret service agents had bombed the Rainbow Warrior under “orders from above”. On 4th November 1985 Mafart and Prieur pleaded guilty to manslaughter and willful damage in Auckland’s High Court, after being charged with the greater crimes of Murder and Arson.

It deserves to be remembered, as does the memory of Fernando Pereira - the Portugese photographer who died in what then-Prime Minister of New Zealand David Lange called “a sordid act of international state-backed terrorism”.

What that quote fails to mention is that was probably the first time the French had shown any balls since Joan of Arc.

No, what I was saying is that Joan of Arc showed some balls when none of the French leadership would.
Do you have a persecution complex or a vandetta against me?

Lay off the French jokes, I've heard too many. Besides, why does it matter what "kind" of French you are? "French" means that at least one of your ancestors came directly from France anyways.

And if you were to eliminate the French impact on American culture, you'd have to change a lot more than the word "french fries". You'd have to get rid of FRENCH toast, the word limosuine, cuisine, and lots of other French words we use. I never quite understood the impossible logic of trying to change french fries to freedom fries. Does that mean we should start calling limosuines "big long black or white car thingys"? Or cuisine "fancy food"?
