I used to play Monopoly and Chinese checkers against myself all the time. Is that just me or did anyone else do that too?

Chess. I would pit one opening against another to test the possibilities. Also tic-tac-toe until I learned how to draw at it every time.

I wonder how many yes answers you'll get from people who came of age after Atari or Nintendo. Since I'm old enough to remember life without Mario and Toad, yeah, I played games with myself. I even played that card game War which was dumb when two people played.

Oops, there's one I forgot. Can't forget scrabble. Especially after I turned out to be such a hardcore Literati fan later in my teens.

Especially when my brother refused to play with me.

I played board games by myself. Only games I didn't play by myself were, checkers, battleship, Clue, connect four, games that were impossible to play by yourself unless you make one of the colors lose and decide which color wins, etc.

everyone eventually gets bored and does thingw like this. including NTs

the games I used to pplay by myself had to do with sports and pretending I was professional (like using a circulwr object as a hole, a ping pong ball as a golf ball and something else as a club) then the announcer voice would go in my head as I played as basically everyone_

I played the card game war against myself, as well as the board games Trouble, Chinese Checkers, Chutes and Ladders, Hi-Ho Cherry-O, Monopoly, and a few others I can't really think of right now, lol. Then there was always Tetris. My mom competed for high score against me, but I was usually more concerned with beating my own high score before I went after hers, lol.

I did it recently to solve a problem involving a penny game. It was so that I could figure out a strategy to win the penny game every time you play.

Constantly, especially Monopoly and Chess.

Whenever I told "ordinary" people about it they would say, "how can you play against yourself?, you would cheat", I guess thats the advantage of an Aspies honesty, I could play and not cheat by putting myself in the opponents position and wanting them to win and visa-versa when it was my turn, so in effect, I was playing two seperate games at once.

I even invented my own war game on a board I painted and squared of a South Sea Island where I would use my little toy soldiers on.
