WARNING: This is subject to conflict.

I recognize some of the symptoms introduced here in myself. I may be oversensitive physically as well as emotionally, though I display some sort of superior skill in physics, compared to my peers.

(Please take note that I take the contents of it with a grain of salt).

Do you recognize yourself in anything in that article?

That article describes me to a fair degree. I didn't have a delay in speech though. I was, in fact, ahead of expectations. That is not to say I met every milestone though, because I am behind in sports and social areas. I DO intuitively know some things. Some things others say "WOW, I never knew", and I think "WOW, you DIDN'T?"!

Quote:
Generally, gifted individuals learn more quickly, deeply, and broadly than their peers. Gifted children may learn to read early and operate at the same level as normal children who are significantly older. The gifted tend to demonstrate high reasoning ability, creativity, curiosity, a large vocabulary, and an excellent memory. They often can master concepts with few repetitions. They may also be physically and emotionally sensitive, perfectionistic, and may frequently question authority. Some have trouble relating to or communicating with their peers because of disparities in vocabulary size (especially in the early years), personality, and interests. As children, they may prefer the company of older children or adults.[4]

Giftedness is frequently not evenly distributed throughout all intellectual spheres: an individual may excel in solving logic problems,
and yet be a poor speller; another gifted individual may be able to read and write at a far above average level and yet have trouble with mathematics. It is possible there are different types of giftedness with their own unique features, just as there are different types of developmental delay.

The bolded areas describe me.

I recognize a lot of the stuff in article in myself but I stopped caring about fitting in and don't care how others view my actions.

Aspergers is characterized by above average intelligence, so it is very likely that you might be considered gifted.

Is it seriously? I have never read this in any description of it. I have read that we can be very intelligent, and I would guess that if you found an average IQ it would be higher than the general population, but only because those with very low IQ's would in most cases have been diagnosed with another form of autism.

No,it's not exclusively characterized by above average intelligence,it is also diagnosed in people with an IQ level over 75.
Officially, they say people with AS 'tend' to have average or above intelligence, but that is only a stereotype[?] it varies-being a spectrum condition,Barry George for example has a prof. tested IQ of 76.

Didn't think have to have a high IQ to be considered gifted either?

It's especially in the way of guilt (when something goes awry) that I fit in this description...

It is true, I'm sure. My mom is a psychologist.
I, myself, have a very hugh IQ.

I'm almost sure that I am gifted, with a savant skill in Geography. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at IQ tests due to my cognitive abilities.
