It's nice to show you admired someone that bursts into a college and murders young people. You are sick in the head and need help.

OP: You have intense love for a homicidal maniac? Ok.

This larger and saner concept of having an emotional attachment to someone who you do not know is completely alien to me. No matter if they have been through similar things that I have (sympathy), I still don't know them; I don't trust people enough to give them my emotions without first knowing them for some time, observing them, and building said trust with them.

I don't blindly give things to others; it doesn't mean I'm not caring (no matter how much empathy I lack), I'm just protective of my own feelings.

I've read that it is not at all uncommon for young women to have an interest in learning more about the perpetrators of violent crimes. It seems more an issue of (perhaps misdirected) compassion and a desire to understand something that is not easy to comprehend. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with the minds of people who feel that way, but I think they might need help understanding what sorts of folks are safe to be around. To that end, the fascination with killers is a good thing, as reading up on the subject will uncover information about sociopathic behavior. Everybody could probably benefit from knowing what to look out for, in that respect. I certainly wish I'd known, before I met one.

I used to have a very complex and deep obsession/love for David Duchovney.

Now, it's Alan Alda. There are so many reasons that I'd like to talk to him, but the most important one is because he saved my life . . . inadvertently, but still.

And Batman of course. I like to think that maybe in heaven we'll have access to holodecks . . .

Everyaspy on WP
Ana,will you start a thread for me?
"What is different about WP'ers?"
i've been thinking about this a lot,but am a cowardly custard & can't start new threads
i know a couple of Aspys & none of them have the slightest interest in WP
(i sat down with one & logged him on & showed him the ropes but...never posted once)
i think we ...can compare with NT's?
we're aware of our lonelyness?
anyway,
you know what i am going to say next,
anyway forever
Love matt

I wouldn't call it love, but I admire Roger Bannister and his accomplishments and determination to achieve greatness.

Me too. Because I know so few understand and would support their decision as an attempt to SAVE themselves.

I don't think there's really too much wrong with that. I have read books about Harold Shipman for example. Reading books about people that have done time in prison is an interest of mine.

An interest in why they committed their crimes? That's OK, I suppose. Admiring their crimes is abhorrent and it means that there is something wrong with them and they probably need help. I'm sure women would be the first to shout me down if I said that I admired a rapist for example.

gwenevyn, sorry, but that made me laugh... not to knock what you've read, but tequlia is more correct.

(not that i know for sure about ana54)
BUT. i do know about myself, and i sometimes admire people who commit violent crimes because i am sometimes a homocidal maniac, but a cowardly one, because i don't want to be caged in jail, so i don't actually kill all the people i think about killing... but when i hear about people who DO finally snap and go on a killing spree, i feel a kind of fierce pride and kinship for them. they finally did it. they made a clean break. they are free. they are fearless now, while i stay motionless and just hear guns over and over again in my head.

somedays, what i wish for most, is that i could be just a bit more selfish and have a bit less conscience... that i could just walk down the street shooting, uncaring if they stop me, because i am so obviously already dead.

Edit: admire is the wrong word. i don't admire them. i envy them. that's more accurate.

I absolutely have a crush on Daniel Radlciffe. Not only is he cute, but i can really relate to him. We have so much in common, and I feel totally connected to him. I enjoy his personality from afar, and pretend like he is my boyfriend for real.
