That's just a known given.

I've taken 2 of the inverted/extroverted myers briggs employment aptitude/interest tests. I only changed one variable and went from extroverted to inverted. I think it had something to do with working out or indoors and with or without people.

Yes, I am an extreme introvert according to the tests.

I thought those were two of our most defining characteristics.

I can be an extrovert at times, but I easily lose myself to my own thoughts if I don't have somebody to grab my attention.

As far as the tests go, I'm an extrovert...

Aspie or not, I'm an extreme introvert and basically live inside my own head.

For me, it's a little different. I don't know if I can consider myself to be "introverted" because I enjoy conversing with other people. The problem is actually going through the motions, the small talk, trying to associate with other people's interests, etc. I admit, I have improved quite a bit on that, but there's still room to improve!

Some are extraverted, but most are significantly introverted. For most of my life, I have been very introverted, but when I do socialize and get comfortable with people, I can be pretty talkative (which definitely surprises people, trust me).

Perhaps a better question would be, how many introverts can you name who AREN'T on the spectrum? I mean, the two traits seem to go hand in hand.

I know introverted individuals who're "normal", and I know extroverted "aspies" (the ratio between intro- and extro- is around 50/50 over here for those I know with definite AS).

When was a teen, often I found it more noble to be thinking about how to change the world rather than socializing, though I would much rather have been socializing. :) I was anxious and depressed.

For Myers-Briggs my typical score for "Introvert" is 85-100% As for being into my own thoughts, well I use "I", "me" or "my" just a smidge too often and almost always direct the conversation towards one of my special interests.

I don't think that "introverted" and "into one's own thoughts" are exactly the same thing. The latter seems to imply that one is more lost inside or locked inside one's own head. Whereas "introvert" simply implies that one prefers less socialization to more.
