Okay so I like pretty much every food but my boyfriend who has asperger's does not like fruits or vegies he says they taste like bugs. I was wondering how does eatting with nt's go for you? Do you have normal family meals or how does that work?

I usually eat whatever i want, while my bf eats what he wants. We will have to change that though, as we have a 1 year old daughter who is starting to eat dinner with us. We have to come up with something so that we can all eat the same thing together. It wont be that hard (and sometimes i guess ill still eat what i want, cause i just CANT eat pure meat) and when they eat that, ill be eating sausage or something like that. I guess you and your bf have to try and figure something out that works for you.

I don't eat many foods at all and I tend to go through periods of eating the same foods everyday and then after eating those for a dew months I won't like those foods anymore sometimes for a while, sometimes forever.
I don't eat at the table with my family either because I don't like watching people eat/being watched.
I feel really sorry for my mum as she has to cook two different meals and put up with me not liking anything.
I would be fine not eating at all.

I eat food in phases. This week it is pineapple, rice crackers and sweet potatoes.

I eat seperate meals.

It has nothing to do with AS, but the fact that I am vegan and my mother and step father are omnivores.

I actually find that my NT-ish boyfriend (not quite on the spectrum, but not quite "normal" if there's such a thing) is a pickier eater than I am. Usually I try to make meals that we'll both like, but sometimes we do separate meals if I'm not motivated enough to think of something to cook for both of us.

everyxthing, is there any way you can bring your boyfriend grocery shopping with you? If the whole shopping experience isn't too much for him, then he can pick out what he wants and you two can plan some meals or eat separately, whatever works best for you.

I don't have a problem with it.

If I am eating out, I will eat lunch at 11:00am, and dinner at 4:00-5:00pm, so I can beat the crowds.
