chess partners?

I'm new here.
I'm interested in finding someone to play chess with. I know the basic moves, but that's it so far.
Also, when i looked on the Aspie Chess link there was a game in progress, it said that anyone could make the next move but I don't want to mess up someone else's game if there is someone else mostly playing that one.
Would anyone be interested in starting a game with me using the Aspie Chess link? I am assuming that I could figure out how it works if anyone agrees.

Yeah, I'll play with you. The Aspie-Chess on this website sucks, though. Do you have a yahoo account? Cause we can play on there, in realtime, with chat facilities, if you need to ask questions regarding the game or anything. But if you dislike realtime play, we can use Aspiechess.

All the games here are bad, I'll play on Yahoo too. Not saying I'll always have the time though.

I've been far too busy to play chess lately (I sorta taught myself two summers ago, but haven't played since)

But if I ever find time to play a game can I IM any of y'all?

i get mail thru one of the yahoo groups, is that what you mean by a yahoo account?
tell me how it works, where to get the account, etc and I'll do that.
it'd be more fun to play realtime when possible.

I meant a Yahoo email account, Rachel. If you're on a Yahoo group, then you probably already have an email account. On the Yahoo index page, click the link to Games, then click on the Chess link, log in with your email account, bypass the advertisement, and choose a room. Set up a board, and let us know where you are, or I'll do the same.

Anyway, yahoo chess should work (and much better than msn chess I think). What browser do you use? Do you have Java installed?

What is FICS?

Free Internet Chat Server or something. Use a web search engine for more information.

I personally like using xboard and zippy, beat the computer. But then again, I'm weird.
