The original, or the (relatively) recent re-make?

The original was released in the 80s, by The Proclaimers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZojpl-p_5A
The re-release was with slightly different lyrics, by Peter Kay and Matt Lucas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isb7qik_Omw

Yes but it seems to be a relevant tangent to me.

Although the remake got to No 1 in the whole of the UK,the original has always been popular in
Scotland anyway with the Proclaimers being from Edinburgh. The original sometimes gets played when the Scotland international football team are playing and the crowd join in.

Hey that song I would walk 500 miles is very popular here in Scotland. It's a favourite among
football crowds.

Benny & Joon. That song was in the movie. That's what got me into it. I heard it used to be popular here too in the early 90's. Mary Stuart Masterson was the one who asked for it to be in the movie. She played it over and over on the set in Spokane because it was her favorite song.

Looks like a parody.

EDIT: Listened to the whole video and it was the beginning of it that was a parody and then The Proclaimers came on stage and sang the real lyrics.

I often go off on tangents that seem logically connected to the main topic, yet others don't always follow me. At least that's what I assume, or they just think I'm boring. I usually think my tangents are interesting and profound but they often get ignored making me feel a sad and neglected.

Yes, a few people think my tangents are interesting most don't think so.

Yea. I often feel like I have this grand epiphany about something and then go off writing a bunch of paragraphs… only to be completely ignored. Very sad and aggravating.
