Lots of logic and little to no empathy?

What else is there to it?

Non-consideration of other people's perspectives. (Because other people's perspectives are all locked into each other. No information seems to go into or out of social collectives, they're like black holes. I find it a lot easier to imagine the universe from the perspective of a mouse, or Mars, or an electron, than from the perspective of other people.)

This idea that they don't have empathy is false, they project how they view the world onto others as a model of how others understand them. This is why they seem to lack empathy.... there is still lots of disinformation on the net and in the research community.

Many of them have no conception of social boundaries, i.e. they are not as territorial and animalistic as their neurtypical counterparts, they have some superior reaosning power in that regard in socializing.... the real problem is...

1) There is a disconnect between emotion and expression, i.e. either aspies are hyper, or they are too relaxed (i.e. conserving energy).
2) Talking and feeling emotions at the same time can be difficult for an aspie, it's like trying to hold onto two bags at once while tight rope walking across a tall building... it's the way their minds process things, have to be done one at a time for many of us.
3) They are only naive in the sense that most people are profoundly ignorant and unconsciouslly prejudice against others from norms they've learned or absorbed growing up.
4) Society is messed up in general, so it effects aspies differently, some aspies parents are messed up beyond belief.

I have no empathy, lots of logic, and several distorted emotions. Plus, I have my "collective" antennae cut off, so I don't feel connected to others; I feel connected to an interest for example, but not people.

Other than that, I doubt I think much differently to the next average bear.

ditto;
and i don't even see why i should have any empathy at all. what's the point? we all live our lives with good and bad moments, i don't need anyone to be there for me in any of them, why should i be?

I have a broken empathy, which in my terms, means that I have it, but I see the wrong emotions, like Scared = Sad, Annoyed = Angry, Neutral = Happy.

I don't like ZakFiend's post, by the use of "They" and "Them" it should be "We" and "Us" as this is a forum for Autistic people...

Then again, maybe he is like I am in this respect, and I noticed some others are. I tend to speak as a third person. When I have spoken of Aspies, Males, Whites, Americans, etc.... I have spoken as one separated from the group, even though I am in all of them.

that's more like it, the simplest explanation is usually the best..

Surely, you're only in a group if the other people in it think you are.
By that criterion, I don't hold many memberships.

Still, I passed a few decades maintaining the illusion...

It's good for some jobs. You can spend hours working on something and never stop to chat or anything like that.

It's a generality, too much Politically correct nonsense has entered the language.

consider "Men are generally fools", that could mean MEN (as in males) or it could be referencing mankind as a whole. It references no particular group except the people who it applies to, so if it doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply to you!

It's an artifact of language, just relax and don't take peoples words so seriously. After 30 years, you need to be ever wear of judging others because you lack their years, experiences and perspectives.
