By what I am aware of anxieties is the middle name of all aspies.
But many times the issues (especially the social ones) become obsessive until resolved.
is this a common thing with many of you as well?
Or is it just me.......

If I am extremely worried about something, I can't get the worry out of my head and my day is ruined as a result, sigh...

Exactly.

This happened to me just today. My boss sent us an email today that there would be a meeting on changes to the employee handbook later in the day. Somehow I got it into my head that there would be some change that I just couldn't live with and I would have to quit. I worried about this all day long, turning my mild sinus headache into a near migraine. It turned out that there wasn't anything worth worrying about.

Paranoia and obsessive bad thoughts ruining my day. Yay me.

How do some of you deal with this issue?
most other interests are sidetracks only, temporary fixes,
and when it comes to obsessive thinking even thats a far reach.

I try to solve whatever "problem" I'm thinking obsessively about. If I can find a solution, there's nothing more to obsess about.

LoL, that would be nice. thats my solution as well, but it seems that sometimes thats just not an option.

Whenever I have a severe worry, I totally ignore it. For days at a time, walking on eggshells for either I'll think about it, or someone else will bring it up.
It's not one of my finer learned responses.

Yes it does for me... In fact I have a hard to impossible time letting the thoughts go until the anxiety is resolved...

When I have an issue that I can't immediately resolve, my anxiety makes me sick to my stomach. I try to take my mind off of it, but that hardly ever works. My thoughts constantly turn back to my worry.

Wow, so many votes and not one negative.
Paranoias and frustrations must run deep in this crowd.

Yes, and it's important not to let society form you because of this.

Many, but not all have anxiety. I don't, for example.

Yes, when I am worried about something, I'll get obsessed with thinking about something-trying to think about something positive.
