I suppose I would wonder why you just got up and stood there.

Would you be able to tell people why?

When I feel unconfortable at work, I go to the toilet or other place where I can be alone.

If I was sitting next to you in class, I'd probably do nothing, unless I was your friend..

The teacher would be responsible for trying to find out why you did this.

If I was another student, the motion of you standing up would draw my attention, but after an initial glance, I wouldn't have done anything. If I was the teacher, I'd probably ask if you needed something, thinking you might have stood up to get my attention. If you replied that you were just stretching or something, I'd go about class as usual, as if you were still sitting. In either case, I'd probably assume that you'd been sitting funny and got a cramp or sore joint that needed to be straightened for a little bit. That can happen to anyone, especially after long periods of being in the same position.

I would find your behaviour interesting/intriguing and wonder if I had found another autistic person in the class.

Maybe because he does the same thing.

Maybe because he wants to do the same thing—but is afraid to.

Maybe because he’s seen other autistic people do the same thing.

If I were close enough, I'd ask if you were alright, and if you weren't I'd try to help you. If you were, I'd leave you alone and just go back to whatever I was doing.
If I was too far to speak to you, I'd probably watch you covertly and wonder if you needed help and if it became clear that you did I would get up and offer.
I don't really mind people just being themselves, whatever that means (barring hurting anyone) and usually just leave them to it.

Because it's something unusual and unexpected. And I sort of admire people who disregard social rules and do what makes them comfortable. It's not like it caused harm to anyone else.

It probably wouldn't get my attention for more than a couple of seconds.

If I were a teacher, I would seek to find out the reason why you just stood up all of a sudden.

Are you in a special-needs class already, do you have an aide with you in a “normal” class, or do are you in a “normal” class all on your own?
