There is stuff that I've done and I've always thought of it as a part of Asperger's but recently I've been wondering if I have a minor case of OCD

These things are:
-In school I need to have my chair exactly parallel to the desk
-If something is out of place I keep thinking about it until I put it in place
-I need to get dressed in a certain order (does that even have anything to do with OCD???)
-The top of my socks need to always be above the bottom of my trouser legs
-The bottom of my t-shirt always needs to be below the top of my trousers
-Other things along those lines, basically...

As you can tell, I'm not exactly a expert on this stuff so I rely on you: do I have some minor OCD stuff or is this all just everyday normal Aspie stuff?

From what I've read and heard, aspies are more likely to have OCD than NT's. The compulsions you listed seem pretty OCDish to me (I have OCD myself, pretty bad as well). I think there's a high chance you MAY have OCD but I'm no professional. If I may ask, do you have any obsessive thoughts like thoughts of being contaminated (germs, etc), inappropriate aggressive thoughts, inappropriate sexual thoughts or blasphemous religious thoughts?

Well I do get angry easily (when stuff goes wrong) and I do get angry at things that others don't and they do think it's inapropriate sometimes even though I don't... A example of this is getting angry at young children.

OCD is usually characterized by intrusive and repetitive thoughts. The things you mentioned don't seem to be anything I would call obsessive thinking. I would call it being resistant to change which while itself can be caused by OCD (and aspergers as well), by itself really doesn't say much about whether it is OCD. From what you've told me, my best guess would be OCPD if you do think you have some obsessive disorder.

OK... The only sort of obsessive thinking I can think of me doing is Aspie obsessions and obviously dosent count.

The closest other thing I can think of is when I am drawing it needs to be perfect, but again I think this is a Aspie thing.

I think I've given you the wrong view of what obsessive thinking is when referring to an obsessive compulsive disorder. An example of obsessive thinking would be something that causes stress and anxiety, something like the fear that you will randomly shout profanity about god, or say something racially inappropriate, even to the extent where you constantly ask yourself if you've done something (eg: Did I close the door? Did I touch that person inappropriately?). More examples would include the thought that you will get infected by touching something and having the urge (a compulsion) to wash your hands repetitively.

OK that helps, I do always ask myself if I done something right and I always need to check or I will be thinking about it for the rest of the day, a recent example is in school I was in the computer room and I logged off and went to the second floor but I started worrying that I hadent logged off so I had to go back to the first floor to check.

If you do think you have OCD or something similar, you could always ask your GP since he will be able to refer you to someone for proper testing because as I mentioned earlier I'm no expert. But of course you really only need to do that if its affecting your daily life or you have difficulties with it which you want to work on. Other than that your gonna have to wait for other peoples input.

I don't think there is any point in doing that, it's not that bad, I am only curious.

I have thought of a few other times when I have been thinking obsessivly, I'm not gonna waste time listing them all though.

So it's possible I have OCD, basically?

It is possible you have OCD. Although in my honest opinion I think the most you would have is some mild form of an obsessive compulsive disorder.

It could be OCD, I have similar problems and I have OCD. I sometimes think some of my problems are half aspie, half OCD. My SpongeBob obsession links into both. You could have OCD, I suggest talking to someone about it. :)

I think the things you described could easily fall under AS, but of course I can't professionally answer.

It's also circumstancial - for example, why do you feel you have those clothing compulsions? Suppose you were to say that it's because you don't like the fabric to touch your legs at the hem, that could be explained as a sensory aspect of AS or perhaps even SID. If you were to say that you feel something unspecified but awful might happen if you don't wear your socks that way, that could fall under OCPD thinking.

Remedy them... Wear ankle socks, Swim (the pressure will relieve some tactile sensitivity...) force yourself to put your chair off centre for a week as a challenge ec... If you do not feel you can self-motivate in this way, and the habits are encroaching on your quality of life i.e. Noticably last to sit down or leave class because of straightening chair to quell obsessive thought, then CBT may help to adapt the behaviour, though other sufferers and you yourself have the best solutions for beating OCD traits.

Ps I too had alot of pure compulsions, things just had to be a certain way, like the arrangement of my room, hoarding ec. OCD had thoughts attatched that would only budge if the ritual was exact i.e. Have to re-read this 64 times, squinting at each punctuation mark, or parents will know I do not understand, be distressed and punish. Perhaps your traits are ASD related, stuborn symmetry compulsions and tactile issues, if obsessions are involved, address them, don't let them build up. Take care.
