Hi-

This is just to inform that there is a Federal Law under US Code 42, 1382 which enabled Disabled Adult CHildren to keep Medicaid when they are forced from SSI onto SSDI. Sometimes the SSDI gives them too much to keep Medciad. This law lets you keep it, but some states do not follow the law.

I have called NAMI- they were going to be helpful till they found out that I was the DAC and not a parent. Then they were like, Oh we will get back to you.

Called Congressman- not even teh courtesy of a boiler plate reply.

Called Disabilty Rights. No response.

So if your state does not follow hte law, and some have had to be sued to get them to follow, good luck.

Anyway, it might help someone in same situation. This helps you not to have to take QMB which is only premium payments.

Anyway, it's enough to give you a stroke but it might help somone get their rights.
