I love going for walks. If I have a couple hours and a fully charged MP3 player, I am unstoppable.

Now if I could just get rid of my awkward balance issues whenever I pass another ped.

If I have somewehre I am going, I don't mind them, but a long walk to e isn't 2hours, 2 hours is a hike, and for that I need to be somewhere good for hikin, like the skyline trail in Cape Breton Highlands national park. They also took an hour off of that trail to make it shorter, it used to go much further out.

When I get excited/agitated and am on my own indoors then I quite often walk up and down in the same spot over and over again. A long fast walk outside is a way of achieving the same effect without people in the office pointing at me!

I have always loved going for long walks, hikes, treks... all the better if it is across wild or difficult terrain. When I lived alone, I would often go off to some secluded place, and walk to the point of exhaustion. Extended walking helps me problem-solve, sort out my internal dialogue, process emotions, and of course is good healthy exercise. This has always been a solitary activity for me, and tends to take on a spiritual/philosophical quality the further I go... almost like the act of walking wakes up my soul.

Yes, although I don't call it "going for a walk", I call it "taking a wander." To me, "walk" implies purpose and destination, and I prefer to wander aimlessly (or in a big loop) and just think.

I like walking just to get some quietness and space. I like walking to school on my own, it makes me feel better.

I prefer hiking, because I like the exploration aspect of hiking. If I could have done anything in the world, it would be explore new places where humans have never before been, and maybe find something really cool.

I used to do it religiously.
These days I am in to really long bike rides.

Me too. Back in high school, I used to sneak out of the house in the middle of the night and go for long walks - I clocked them once I started driving and found my longest walks were 15 miles! But mostly, I'd walk about 8 miles, then sleep through my classes the next day. I used to do it three or four times a week, sometimes more often.

Nowadays, I just like to walk, it doesn't matter where. I don't have to have a purpose, but I have walked 7 miles (one way) to get to work and back, and it doesn't faze me in the least.

Like to go on long walks in very very very quiet places, dont like hilly places due to having a CP like condition on left side,so flat ground in woodland surrounding the best, countryside parks are good when all those screaming horrible things are not off school and taking over.

a good walk [when quiet and no gardeners are there] is longford park in stretford/chorlton manchester,
when used to live very near the park, every day was going around it all, stopping to see if horrace the goat was out in the mini zoo, and walking down a road beside it as it was full of cats out spraying everything, and a maine coon breeder lives there to.
lots of grass,and trees.

It has been a long time since I last went on a hike. That is quite sad for me to say because there are some beautiful trails out here in AZ. I live close to the San Tan and Superstition mountain ranges. The views are breathtaking.
