I know this probably belongs in the music forum but i feel it will not receive the play it deserves.

Also, after such a stellar career, i believe that they have transcended music alone. They are the voice of 5 generations now.

What is the best Stones song?

I vote;

Shine a Light, from Exile on Main Street.

But i believe Beggars Banquet to be their greatest album (Exile a close second)

ps my alternative login name would have to be McJagger, for reasons which should be clear.

"Satisfaction" for its lyrical content and one of the most unforgettable hooks in music history. The story behind is that Keith Richards bought one of the first cassette tape recorders in 1964. He had it by his bed when the opening riff came to him in his sleep. He got out of bed, set it to record, played the riff on his acoustic, and went back to sleep. In the morning, he rewound the tape and found that he had 30 seconds of "Satisfaction" and 29 1/2 minutes of him snoring.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Here's Keith Richards' brain (scchhhhhh). Here's Keith's brain on drugs (opening notes to "Satisfaction"). Here's Keith almost dead (opening notes to "Jumpin' Jack Flash")"--Bill Hicks (R.I.P.)

'She's a Rainbow'-Flowers

It brings to my mind, images of 1967 London, even though I'm only 31.

which coincidently and for your trivial knowledge
Her Satanic Majesties request was a spoof of the Beattles Sgt Peppers Garbage.

And John and Paul sang back-up yo the song which you noted Cockney Rebel.

Da la la la la la la.

A brilliant album.

Brian Jones tragically died exactly one year prior to my birth.

I must admit that it was the greatest thing to happen to the Stones. For they went on to literall kickass for years after.

they were mired in the teeny-bop, Dick Clark Music prior to Mick and Kieth officially taking over as the leaders (the Glimmer twins)

Sympathy for the Devil is one of my favourite songs, but I think Paint It Black is amazing (fans of Full Metal Jacket will know what I mean).
