As you know, I'm trying to make 30 vids in 30 days. But, before I started, I already made 40 videos about autism! So, I'm running out of ideas, other than to spend two weeks featuring profiles of famous people who might have had it. Are there any suggestions of what you'd like to see?

Thanks.

What were the subjects you have covered so far? I might have some ideas, but I don't know if you have already done them.

What about false assumptions. I dunno if you have done that but here are my ideas.

Talk about how aspies can have a sense of humor, use sarcasm and some people assume just because they can do those things, they can pick up on other people's sarcasm and understand it and understand other peoples jokes.

Here is another assumption some people make, they think just because you know what you are saying, they think you would know if it would offend someone or not or upset them. One of my aspie friends make that assumption about me and it hurt a lot because my god he is aspie so he should understand, I would expect that from a none autistic person but not from my own kind. Perhaps he doesn't have that trait and he has has that good TOM where he knows what would upset people or offend them and what wouldn't.

I think you did a video once about women and AS, I think it was about AS women and relationships...this was some time before I joined Wrong Planet, but I think I recognize your face...(wow- did I actually recognize a face? 8O I apologize if that was not you... )

Anyway, I´m really interested in AS in women, and I think its important for people to get to know the "silent end of the spectrum", so I think more subjects that relate to women are always a good idea. Of course, maybe you´ve already done this and are looking for different ideas...

Since I don´t know everything you´ve done, here are a few suggestions- (which may be repeats):

Taking words literally, misunderstandings with people

Autism in the media- how do you feel about the way AS is represented?

Debunking some of the myths and stereotypes- (though I think you did something like this recently)

Coping strategies

Situations that bring on stress (part one), how we react or how we deal with it (part two)

AS (unusual) speech patterns

"All Aspies are different"- showing how a trait can present like this in one, and like that in another...

Hmmm, maybe not so original, I´ll keep thinking and write more ideas if they come to me

A video on gifts and talents that WP members have.

Comfort objects.

Autism in the workplace and what valuable employees we can be.

How we navigate the NT world.

Thanks everybody. I've done all those.. like 54 so far. What I haven't done is "faces of autism" and if you'd like to send a pic for the video, PM me and I'll send my email address.

Thanks Millie! And I did start to do a vid on spinning things. They're all in my "spirals" folder and they were going to go in a video about stimming. But, I couldn't find enough people stimming in pictures.

Poetry by People with Autism would be a good one. What do you think?

I've done autism and.. meltdowns, sensory sensitivities, mood disorders (together), work stress, depression (oops! Maybe I didn't do anxiety.. I'll have to check!) and two on women and autism (yes, I did one 2 years ago, that was me!) Two on the DSM IV TR, Three of an introduction to asperger's syndrome, myths about AS, idioms, beauty and strength in autism, negative campaign ads about autism, friendships, coping well with autism, NLD (2 videos), artwork by people with Asperger's Syndrome, AS and relationships, not seeking a cure for AS, occupational therapy for AS, and several with my local autism group doing things.

I haven't done AS and Sex.

Great ideas, Millie.

I guess AS and Sex and AS and anxiety are next on the agenda!

How about a message to parents with newly diagnosed children?

incorporate anonymous comments from WP? but get permission from the members first ;)

you could juxtapose positive and negative comments together.

wh***y, apparently you do a good job; my WP friend Josie said she really likes your videos.

I have another idea. Telling people to accept us as individuals and don't expect us to read their minds and be psychics which is theory of mind, reading body language and social cues. Expecting us to be like them is like a basketball player expecting everyone to be good at it as he is or me expecting everyone to like Benny & Joon and like Spokane just as much as I do or like the exact same video games as I do.

I just want to say thank you for your videos and how much they hit home... especially about the swing. I remember going to swing a lot as a kid and even now. I love swings.
It made me feel more balanced. Also about the meltdowns. Yes I have uncontrolable subtle crying at times and I also tend to shut out as another way to cope.
I thought that was just me.
And the good things about Aspergers was way swwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttt! I liked the loyal friend and being compassionate to animals. I am both.
Your school situation sounded a lot like me.

I have a few!! ! How about aspies and their relationships with their dogs?
or other pets? I can communicate well with my dogs because they are simple.
You could do a visual segment- sometimes pictures go so fast for me and seem blur.
You could do a segment on aspies communicating with NTs.
or a video on aspies and details.
Or a video about being taken advantage of.
How about a NT teasing video when the aspie isnt joking back and thinks their serious and they take it serious and it gets them in trouble?
Yes it has happened to me.

How about a video on tips for small talk?
How about a photo segment? the lens view of the world with aspergers sydrome. Sometimes we see things others dont.
You could use some of my photos but I am not a diagnosed aspie.
How about a video of a daily life with Aspergers?

Just throwing ideas for you.
