Sometimes, I'll laugh the hardest i've laughed in a long time at absolutly nothing, one time it happned in class and everyone was all, "Whats so funny?" sometimes I'd stop and a few seconds later burst out laughing again. Anyone else do that?

Yes, I did this very thing many times in school, and it has happened only in the company of others. I think what makes the situation so amusing and self-perpetuating is that it cannot be shared with anyone; this is both sad and funny, and also confuses others. For me the "nothing" is sometimes the expression on others' faces when they don't understand why I'm laughing. Sometimes the laughter is contagious and others will be caught offguard and not be able to figure out what the smat is so funny themselves.

Can't say I have. My brother has, he once laughed for forty minutes straight at absolutely nothing. My mom had to call the hospital. But he's not autistic, only psycho.

Sometimes I just start laughing for no reason I can really think of. Perhaps a burst of energy or emotion comes to the surface but it can't really be put in words. In any case, I start laughing and my parents ask me what's funny. Then, I have to think of a stupid joke on the spot. I never thought to tell them that I was just laughing at nothing. My parents would insist that it was "something" and they wouldn't be satsified until I had produced something substantially humorous.

Yes but I think it's some kind of a nervous stress relief. It sure feels good though, as long as I can figure out how to explain it to the people staring at me. ;-)

yup haha did that today, with me tho again its another reaction idk what iwas staring at, wasnt thinkin of anything, heard a part of the song that made me laugh so hard i stopped breathing haha. Growing up i use to laugh soo hard or be sooo angry, i would stop breathing i would be turning blue until somebody blew on my face to make me breathe again hahaha, i was such a weird child lol. anyways yep ur not alone hehe.

I had to edit this to correct it... my mother said i would laugh so hard i would stop breathing yes, but most importantly it was when i was get in suchbad tantrums even when i was an infant i would turn blue and start almost convulsing until somebody blew on me in order to breathe again lol. yep mark me down for the weirdest child ever in history lol.

I laugh at things that I remember that happened many years ago.

Comedic time travel?

I don't know.

I did it at a friend's funeral. I was laughing my ass off with tears squirting everywhere and people were giving me the stink-eye, too. I couldn't help it, it was like that is how I was taking care of stress and grief and sadness. I was mortified and got myself out of there, but I wasn't DXed as AS for 15 years later, so I just thought I was a bad person. bummer. (and in the ever after I think that Alan understands!)

I only laugh at things, sometimes inappropriately so due to the ASD. But never at literally nothing.

I do laugh randomly if I think of one little funny thing that I saw or happened ages ago, and it's hard to hold in too.

Once in a blue moon, something gets stuck in my head that I thought was funny (such as something funny that I saw on TV)and I always seem to feel like laughing at the wrong time such as in classes. I'm pretty good at holding in my laughs but my urge to laughing is pretty high and I can't say I like that. However, eventually, that funny moment will pass.

my bro's psychosis was exactly like that too- he'd laugh the whole day at nothing.

personally, I can be pretty happy and excited about nothing, just in good mood in general, but not really laughing. but then again, most things that make me laugh don't seem funny at all to regular people.
