We'll all need to wrap up well this winter, or face huge energy bills. When we lived in France we were skint the last couple of years there and couldn't afford heating. It was an old stone building, no cavity walls, no insulation anywhere, perishing, so we wore coats, hats and gloves indoors. Not ideal but kept us warm. Probably have to do similar here in the UK too, though I had a wood burner installed in one room where we spend most of our time, so it won't be cold in there.
