Dying Alone
I heard a fellow on the radio say something like, “For a Christian, there is nothing to fear from death. But from dying, there is much to fear.”
He went on to say that he had recently watched his brother die of throat cancer.
I worry about those I would leave behind. I watched my mother die of pancreatic cancer and it went to the brain in the end and it wasn’t pretty. My dad took it kind of hard. I worry more about my dad dying than my dying.

I completely understand how you feel Fenn. I am a Christian and even though I have no fear as I know where I am heading after I die I have fear of the process of death itself. Four months ago I went to go see my Pastor who was a very close friend of mine for many years in the hospital to say goodbye as he was dying from Kidney failure. It was very hard to see and witness. I have a fear too of dying alone and seeing my parents pass away.

We all die alone. Even if you're surrounded by people as you die, odds are that none of them are also in the process of dying.

^ That's my concern about it as well. That would be an unfortunate reality for those who had to deal with my remains.
Beyond that, I'm more than okay with dying alone. I don't have issues with being alone or with dying, for that matter. I'd likely prefer to be alone when dying than around people anyway. Death seems a personal and private sort of thing anyway, may as well do it solo. Less fuss and to do about it that way. Seems more peaceful to me. *shrugs*
I hope I die in my sleep alone aged about 70 with all my brain faculties intact (as much as they ever have been in my life).
What I dread is being in pain in a hospital surrounded by people who I don't really like.
