I have not voted as none of the options represent my opinion and as someone outside the USA I don't subscribe to an archaic 'constitution' that may or may not have relevance today but should certainly be a 'living' document updated as needed to reflect the changing nature of human existence.

This thread is about sex versus violence in video games, and not about foreign politics.

I don't like overly violent games.
I do not like games with sex in them.
Most people do not like the games that I do
But seriously, I recognize that while there is very little violent or sexual content that I find value in, I'm one person. We all read different books and watch different movies. I play Dragon Age, which some people think is far too bloody but which I find stylized enough to not bother me, and options for sexual content that I skip. Other people might prefer to stick to something like Portal, or they may have fewer hangups than I do and play...whatever is out there that has more of that content (I don't know, I only play Dragon Age and started Portal).
I think the standards should be different if you mix sex and violence, though setting up an argument to support that assertion would take too much thought on the subject and I'll let someone else do it.

Anyways, I believe that video game designers should be able to make whatever they damn well please.
Demand dictates supply, and there's nobody forcing anybody to buy video games.

And in general, I tend to ignore the lewd, super-violent society that I live in. Video games are just one outlet for these tendencies. It's everywhere in America if you go looking for it.

Video games should be allowed to show both sex and violence, and it should be legal for children to buy or rent both.

Re the link, the idea that exposing children to sex will do them any harm is extremely bizarre, in my opinion. Minors should be able to buy/rent hardcore pornography, if they want (I'd recommend they don't though, since they can get so much for free on the internet).

The argument is just an excuse to hide the real culprit. Bad parenting. They shouldnt ban either of the two just because parents dont want to deal with teaching their children moral values.

Anyways, if you're living at home then more violence is better, since it's so, so much less awkward for your mum to walk in on than a sex scene.

A game is a book with more pictures. If you dont want a book not to sell or be copied and made into a wrose book, dont buy it, dont look at it and let others know not to buy it. I play games but I only play games that look good to me. I dont play games I do not like/want more made of. I am on frist name bases wih the people at my gamestop et they still ask me for my ID so if a kid games a game they should not play I blame the parents or the kids friends parents.

I experienced sexual violence. I noticed it the next day when my undies was saturated with blood. It was a once off. I don't know whether it was accident or not. However, the person was sexually very aggressive.

I was sexually harrassed before this.

Anyway, afterwards I suffered a psychotic episode. I was pregnant and got attacked by a bear outside. I also dreamt about a sheep. A boy was sexually assaulted in the back room of a church. Then somehow I was in an upstairs bedroom, in a dream, I died, literally by the same man that attacked the boy in the church.

As an artist you should make whatever the hell you want. Otherwise it's opression. Personally I wouldn't play a violent game and I certainly don't see why anyone would ever make one, but the laws about censorship are just ridiculous. Kids should be exposed to sex because they're going to get into it anyway...

Violence is fine, sex is fine, but sexual violence is totally not fine.

Actually, I'll be more specific. Gratuitous, brutal, graphic violence is pushing it, but 'standard' violence is fine. Tasteful sex is fine, but porn for the sake of porn is pushing it. Sexual violence, is, like I said, not OK.
