Civilisations and why they rise and then collapse, Peak oil, macro-economics (with a rather Malthusian slant), Geography, maps, geo-politics, History, Spiritual explanations and understanding for our existence and purpose.
Botany (identifying trees)
Processes and systems of any sort
Psychology (Karl Jung is a big influence on my thinking) and more recently, autism and Aspergers for obvious reasons.
Gaming (Runescape and Skyrim mostly)
Typing, data capture and cataloguing information (this isn't an interest, its more a fixation on a particular type of activity that I find immensely satisfying)
Messing around with spreadsheets, visual basic programming etc.
Statistics and research: I love the structure and orderliness of the research process including statistics

Fitness, specifically running. I have run numerous 5k, 10k, Half Marathons over the years. 4 marathons and 1 ultra. I think i like it because after an hour or so of running my brain finally shuts up and that lasts usually the rest of the day. Only works on really long runs.

- Music: Playing guitar, bass, drums, writing and producing music, music technology and my home studio.
- Science: Theoretical physics (string theory, M-Theory, cosmology, quantum theory, particle physics)
- Understanding People: sociology/behavioural economics/phycology, reason vs superstition, atheism, antitheism, religions and why people believe them, corwd mentallity etc
- Computing: Programming and scripting languages and technologies - also my job luckily.
- Urbex/Photography: Exploring and photographing abandoned buildings, there is also a good social scene around that which I find easier since there is a focus and shared interest.
- Media collection: Downloading and rigidly organising as many albums, films, tv shows etc as possible. I am quite compulsive about this and my wife will joke that I was up all night because I had some important copying and pasting to do.
- Stressing about AS - this is a new one!

-- Have had a lifelong love of fabrics/textiles, and making things out of them -- stuffed animals for friends' kids, mostly.

-- For work... deep-tissue bodywork. It's easily the most fulfilling and fascinating career I've had, and people get to leave happier and with less pain, brilliant. Education curve is open-ended and so engrossing.

-- Love kludging fixes (within reason) -- that process in my head is addicting. Thinking laterally was probably developed during my years as a motorcycle tech. Love using obscure knowledge to solve problems -- and that also helps with the previous interest a lot too.

-- Psychology, of course...

-- Developed a late appreciation for the theatre (as LGBTQ, that's quite a shortcoming! ). Glad it's slowly becoming more mainstream again with movies like the cinematic Les Mis coming this Xmas...

-- Singing. Looove karaoke. Mom was a singer in her younger days...

Research is a huge one for me. I love it and can get lost for hours.

I have a really off memory, though, so I hardly remember much unless it's one of my favorite topics. Even then I have to make files or add to favorites to get good recall. I love it when I have a question about something and find I've got a file saved on that very thing.

Now that I think of it, that's pretty funny.

Mass doses of research + low recall = always something new!

I'm a big reader/researcher. I spend an inordinate amount of time researching random topics in books and on the internet. However, for the last two years a big part of that time has been researching human nutrition. Specifically, the science behind LCHF (Low carb, High fat) diets, and the science (or lack thereof) behind the current dietary recommendations in the United States.

Finding a diet that will make this cardiovascular disease leave my body. I don't want to take drugs, and most certainly don't want to undergo surgical procedures which could result in in changes to my already quirky personality.

The Abrahamic Religions.

I frequently get intensely interested in other subjects from time to time but this is my biggest interest and I have been interested in it since childhood.
