So, what's the reality about camping by the river in Eugene, OR if homeless? And, being a woman doing that?

It’s a really bad idea.

Aren’t there any women’s shelters you could go to? A YWCA?

Have you tried getting into low income housing? They often take homeless people (especially women with children) right away even if there is a waiting list.

How’d you wind up in Eugene?

I thought you were in Tennessee.

Yep. Camping by the river: bad idea. Might have been more feasible in the 1950s.

I wish people who have no bad intentions had more freedom should they be down on their luck.

The fact is: there’s a great deal of prejudice against homeless people. Even knowing that most homeless folks are decent people.

Have you checked this place out?

https://eugenemission.org/about/faqs/

It’s a homeless shelter. It looks like they could help you get back on your feet.

Their number: (541)344-3251. Have you ever had a social worker? I know the ins and outs of some of this stuff so feel free to PM me.

Camping alone could be really dangerous, especially for women.

Please stay near to other women it's not safe to be outside on your own sweety. Sending you a big hug and thinking of you.

There’s a place for mothers and babies in the link presented by Twilight.

They also have case management to help people get back on their feet.

It looks like a good option, but if it doesn’t work, there are always other options.

My son is w my brother and his wife temporarily.
I came here for various reasons.
I do plan on being stable to bring him here.
But, it's hard. And, I've become suicidal.

8) my advice would be;
since you want to be able to raise your son you need to start with something as close to the norm as possible,
don't wander into hypothetic land,
one goal at a time,
once in the norm of normal you can personalise that

been there, etc
