We we're told about a trusted fiduciary. This fiduciary is also experienced with clients familiar with state govt. agencies supports for non-profts offering (ILS) 'Independent Living Support' services - services mainly designed to serve clientle with developmental disabilites more severe than HFA.

This fiduciary assisted clients with HFA who naturally struggled with services geared towards again, clientele with developmental disabilites more severe than HFA. Not surprisingly, a few of these cleints promptly discontinued services with state supported ILS services - after consulting with this fiduciary!

* For further details on my personal decision to discontinue ILS services, see WP discussion thread 'Experiences with Developmental Disabilities?' on Page '1' in the 'General Autism Discussion Forum' as of this writing. The post is located after scrolling-down a few posts in the disc. thread 'Experiences with Developmental Disabilities?'

The consultation fee is suprisingly affordable, $150 for one-hour of services - surprisingly affordable esp. considering that further uses of services might just be only necessary perhaps only once or twice a year. The main challenge is the time consuming part of checking references to trusted fiduciaries with trusted family friends, colleagues - esp. those experienced professionally and/or personally with adults on the Autism Spectrum.

Review:

As mentioned in original post, benefitting from, and affording the services of trusted fiduciaries is surprisngly not too much of a challenge.

The fiduciary discussed in this thread assisted clients with the 'High Functioning Autism Spectrum' (HFA)- who promptly decided to discontinue services geared towards clientele with developmental disabilites more severe than HFA - after consulting with a trusted fiduciary!

A fiduciary can even be named as a contact person in the event of an emergency - as opposed to naming an agency serving clientele with developmental disabilities (unable to serve clientele with HFA) as an emergency contact!

The topic of fiduciaries has received way too little mention here on WP...... Why?
