82

Undiagnosed, but I intend to see a psych who understands what AS is. (The first one I consulted hardly knew what it was all about -- some psych!!)

Please tell me this doesn't lead into "there aren't any old people with autism therefore autism is thimerosal poisoning."

My father is 63 and has AS, my grandfather was the same and he would be 93 if he was still alive. One of my dad's brothers is just like one of my AS sons and he is 61.

I am 40 and have been told by my children's pediatrician to seek a diagnosis for myself. I'm not sure if I'm ready to do that.

The conventional wisdom of, if you're young you want to be older, and if you're old you want to be younger is so very true..

46. My father was more Aspie than me, and he would've been 69 yo.

I have two uncles who are Aspie as well, 68 and 73.

There's three over 65.

QFT.
Makes me think of that quote about how "youth is wasted on the young".
Felt older-more mature, mentally-in some ways, as a kid than I do now. Suppose I'll feel almost juvenile by time I'm "elderly"-guess it all balances out.

I'm 35 (and diagnosed only a few years ago). My father is 65 & isn't dx'd (he's not interested in the concept or label of ASD's), though he definitely has plenty of similar traits.

my dad is 70 and has un-diagnosed but clear AS and my grandfather would be 99 if her were still alive and he also had un-diagnosed AS. In dad's case at his stage of life there is probably little point of getting an official DX also he wouldn't admit it. At least I know where it comes from.
