That is kind of appropriate, although maybe a cyborg or android would be more appropriate. Because while we do develop programs and tactics to help us manage everyday life, it's important to remember we're only human.

I would favour some kind of yin and yang symbol or a version of it.
The idea is that AS and NTs are both part of a whole: humanity.
And humanity would be less whole without either.
In some respects I see having a logo at all as 'othering', though
I would like it if there were a logo that I found inspiring or meaningful as
a symbol.

That's my opinion on it as well. While symbols help others outside of the group it represents understand that same group, they can also often serve to divide. Because of this I think the best approach would be to have no logo and have us as people represent the spectrum.

I'm not a cat person, but if someone were to ask me to design a logo based on my impression of autistics, instead of based on my own experiences with having AS, it would be a cat.

I haven't thought of any details yet, but it wouldn't have childish elements, because that gives the wrong impression of many autistic adults. I might have a kitten there too, along with the cat, to represent autistic kids.

If there had to be a logo, I'd definitely vote for that one. :) I've come to be better aware that besides my adult self, there's some ways in which I'm more simple and in some ways childish in the way I think. Like I'll sometimes have thoughts like when I see a bird on a roof I'll think "Hey, there's a bird!". Thankfully these thoughts rarely become vocalized so all is well.
