I don't think the article means to disparage people with Asperger's, who obviously can't help their condition. I think it was just to point out the emotional immaturity of upper class, influential males who have been sheltered their entire lives and the consequences of their realization of it. The Asperger's reference was just to show the extent of their emotional immaturity.

David Brooks is one of my favorite columnists and your picture of him as Locutus of Borg makes me laugh, Kilroy.
