If you regularly smoke cigars instead of cigarettes, are you still as likely to get lung cancer? I was wondering because Rush Limbaugh passed away today of lung cancer and he was an avid cigar smoker. Would you say that his cigar smoking caused him to get lung cancer?

There are risks but it doesn't happen overnight. A lot of things can trigger a lung cancer, but yep, cigars can too...

You don't inhale cigar or pipe smoke. The tobacco is much stronger than that used in cigarettes and the nicotine is absorbed by the tissues of the mouth. So it is less likely to cause lung cancer than cigs are. But it is a big cause of mouth cancer.

No.  Vapers are still inhaling chemicals into their lung, where those chemicals stay and damage lung tissue.

It certainly doesn't help. Cigars are harmful as are cigarettes and vaping. If you smoke anything like that your going to have increased chances of getting lung cancer and various other health problems.

You probably won’t get lung cancer… mouth cancer or throat cancer will get you first.

… best avoid.

The chances of any ill health effects are pretty low unless you're hot boxing them constantly, I actually inquired with my insurance company because I was trying to accurately fill out their tobacco use declaration, and what they said was they don't care unless you're smoking more than 2 a day. Forget doctors and scientists, when an insurance company declines to jack up your rates because you do something, I take that seriously. 2 cigars per day is a lot, both in time and money, I don't know anyone who smokes even close to that frequently.

It can cause pancreatic cancer. It’s very bad. I’ve recently started using a Nicorette inhaler and that helps a lot.

For cigars? I don't know that I've ever heard of anyone getting addicted to them.
