There was a peppermint tablet my doctor prescribed for me to help with IBS. Apparently it went down the digestive system and dissolved in it so it soothed the IBS.

No idea what it was called, this was many years ago. It was quite good but didn't get on with some foods I ate. But maybe you could ask about the peppermint tablets.

That could easily be the reason!

Good luck, I hope it goes well and you get better soon xx

Good luck with the operation.

I'm glad the mass isn't cancerous.

I always tell myself that I went through pregnancy and childbirth, nothing can be worse than that, so an operation will be less bad.

thats okay then because i had a horrible experience with childbirth even though i only had one child
i was alone in my flat when i gave birth to my boy
i was crawling around in agony for most of the day and had him on the kitchen floor on my hands and knees like an animal
i was all alone i dontt know why i didnt phone an ambulance i just didnt

im sure having an operation wont be as bad as that and i most definitely wont be alone thats for sure

Yes, we are strong. We are women!

That is awful! You needed some support. Where were your partner, family and friends? They should have been there for you. The operation won't be like that for sure.

Don't worry, birth IS an animal thing. I was in hospital and gave birth like an animal too. Humans are animals. Birth is nature at it's most animalistic.

The main thing is, we had our kids and they are happy and healthy and perfect. You did well, Mama!

thank you
i didnt have a partner then as he put the baby inside me and then left me
my father was at work and i could have phoned him but for some reason i didnt
i didnt know i was in labour actually well i did sort of but i thought it might pass and call someone out in the morning or something
it was 2 weeks before due date so i think i took it literally thinking he will be born on the exact predict day and no earlier no later

i was a bit clueless because i wasnt planning on having any children

yeah i got through it but i did hate my son in the first few months but at the same time i loved him and did anything to protect him

my hormones were just all over the place also being autistic made it take longer to bond with him

This is a awkward topic to address, i feel, but it is part of being a human .
So after researching my digestive issues, all over its own spectrum over 6 decades of life . :chin: :wall: :study: :study:
Have learned my body doesn’t like me to “ hold it” . But that doesn’t address this issue so much. 8O
Have found if left to its own health the body likes to repair damage, to itself. Have had to address colon issues lots and lots . But the body likes proper nutrients to do it with . So that being said a human body is almost always in the process of healing. This concept is important . And it can cause all sorts of symptoms when its not getting what it needs to do this :eew: . And this concept is more important than doctors diagnosing you :nerdy: . There is an entire school of thought on this I am told by my retired ER doctor that treats me.
And the body will always try to make its environment better for healing … sometimes in weird ways .
That all being said . Things I have tried for my somewhat ongoing journey in trying to keep my digestive tract
Treating me better. Or me treating it better ? Are generally simpler things , a start for a healthier environment for their stomach, etc . To start some apple cider vinegar , a teaspoon or so in a small glass of water . Every morning first thing . Of course lots of hydration throughout the day. And low sugar stuff. Sugar itself does not promote healing.
But it tastes nice :) . Then with any supplements or meds lotsa water , extra water. A Ayurvedic med, called Neem
Likes to help regulate the colon . Even calm it alittle . Comfrey Tea will actually help heal the lining,Ceylon Cinnamon helps calm the tummy , ie. ( Gastrointestinal lining all the while ). Stomach lining is happy with proper bacteria in it ,, whole yoghurt or good quality acidophilus
( probiotics, prebiotics, whatever you want to call them). On a regular basis , until healing gets stronger in the colon .
Then while its being. In a delicate state of healing ,it may want to have help moving things through it. A Codliver fish oil helps that as a supplement. :fish: Lubricant, basically .( Eventually better wind.) and some exercise.
Then whatever you can do for roughage, to help scrape walls of the colon clean . Makes for better healing.
All of these things work together and may take some time to work to undo any previous damage. :ninja:
( just offering this Info as suggestions) Have had to recover from some life ending physical accident car wrecks
,One where my body was crushed 2/3 of my physical anatomy was squashed :( . And had to learn this stuff just to try to recover . The idea of seperating your food intake from big amounts of liquid is a good and well known one too.
. Btw FYI . Antibiotics do not just kill harmful Sick making bugs in your system
But also much of the good bacteria in your digestive track . So remember to replace healthy bacteria in gut if on antibiotics .Good Health and Happy Pooping to all
( interesting fact:human body likes a Alkali environment to heal in,(not Acid) cider vinegar water, written about above. Does this.Alkali thing. ( All this stuff had to get to special interest level :nerdy: for me to be able to continue to recover.)

What a jerk of a partner! His loss.

I think no one knows what it will be like when they have children so most of us are clueless. You're not alone, you're part of womankind.

We just thought that we didn't want to get to age 60 and think we *could* have had children but *didn't even try*. So we didn't plan anything or have any support, I just ended up pregnant and basically disabled for 9 months at home alone. We'd moved to a new area, I didn't have any friends, so it was really stupid to get pregnant without any support. We all need support networks when we have children.

Yes I was terrified of hurting my baby on purpose for the first few months, I felt like a crazy woman, but I fought the feelings and eventually got to see the Women's Specialist doctor, quite by accident. She put me on anti depressants and the violent feelings went away thank god. Then my baby was ill for 5 years, but that's another story.

Women need far more support with pregnancy and babies than they get! It's a natural process but very very difficult and should be supported! Not dismissed as if it's as simple as weeing.

Yes I forgot to say I'm sorry you went through that, Caz72.

I went off on a rant instead, my default setting!

You are amazingly strong! I bet your friends and relatives were very worried when they found out you'd been through that alone.

I fall into the autistic trap of trying to empathise by sharing my own experiences but a lot of people (NTs?) think I'm trying to compete or something and get angry. NTs are always angry with me tbh.

I think I was diagnosed with IBS 20 years ago but I managed to calm it by changing my diet. I used to be in pain 24/7 but I hardly ever am now.

It’s “normal” human behavior to share experiences.

It’s nonsense for people to get angry for sharing experiences.
