Do you need an eye exam to get glasses?

Yes, because eyes change and do not remain the same.

Is it required? No. You can give your measurements to a lens crafter and get your glasses.

They also check for glaucoma and cataracts and a number of other eye problems.
My last visit I was told I'd probably need cataract surgery within 3 years.
A good reason to wear sunnies.

^My mum just had cataract surgeries. They did each eye a few weeks apart. She's really enjoying her new vision, says everything is super clear. She only has to wear glasses for reading.

I had eye surgery last month for my "lazy eye". The ophthalmologist cut the muscle on the inner part of my eye and then stitched it to bring my eye inwards. I'm really pleased with the results. I'm still waiting for my cornea to return to white. I'm currently putting in eye drops twice a day for the redness.
