This is the only copy known to exist of the "NFL-AFL Championship Game". At the time, the game was no big deal-even TV Guide chose to feature a Harlem Globetrotters game instead of this one. The tape's original owner worked at WDAU-TV in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and had to work that Sunday. Bored, he recorded the game on a quadraplex two inch reel video machine at the station in hopes of maybe selling it someday. The tape may be worth as much as $1 million, but insultingly the NFL offered the tape's owner only $30k. The tape suffers from warping-a common problem with 1960s videotape that has survived-making the sound and color uneven. Keep in mind that video tape machines had just been introduced a few years before, and the owners were mainly TV stations. Not even the rich had the bulky machines.
