I have lost at least 30 pounds, out of the 130-140 I needed to lose at the start of my weight loss. The problem is, I have lots of loose skin now. When I lay down the skin folds up, but when I stand up it folds out much like an accordion. And since there is no such thing as "air" inside the human body (except for the lungs), I am retaining fluid to make up for the empty space where the fat used to be. The problem is, I'm retaining so much fluid that it's messing with my weight. I can't seem to get below 300 lbs (I topped out at 325 lbs last year) because of it. My loose skin and the fluid retention is adding at least two inches to my waist, and I find myself having to cinch the measuring tape tightly to get an accurate reading. I know this is normal, but it's driving me nuts. Is there any way to tighten the skin without waiting until I've lost all the fat and then going under the knife, which my mom is terrified of me having such drastic cosmetic surgery?
