www.c25k.com

Basically, it's getting you up of the couch and being able to jog 5kms.

Once I sort out my sleep problems (shouldn't take too long) I'm going to start it.

Hopefully it'll go well.

well, running around in circles will definately help you sleep. those people should work for the local paper, or the mail or something. maybe make some profitible, useful idea, instead of just running around in circles for no real reason. that run for charity stuff... not really useful. maybe chase after buffalo with a spear or something. I dunno. just throwing that one out there.

Kezzstar, C25K is a good program and if you follow it faithfully, you'll be a good runner and get into great shape. Keep at it.

My friend did this and she looks great - has lost a stone in six months and is looking very sleek and healthy.

I hope you're right. I could stand to lose about 10-15kgs.

It's a great program.

If you get stuck in one stage when it says to move on to the other, pay no mind. Everybody is different and it takes them more or less time to adapt. Eventually you will succeed if you just keep at it.

C25K is an excellent program.
Persistence is key.
Don't jump ahead.
Commit.
Do.
No excuses.

And you'll get there.

I got through my first session OK, except for really sore hips. I went for a walk in the Lagoon though before work and the pain is almost gone now - bearable enough to try another session this afternoon on the way home.

I was suprised at how well I did at the first session, the first few reps were easier than I expected. Towards the end I was feeling like I wasn't going to make it, but then the app congratulated me on getting it done and I was like "Seriously, WTF?!"

You're off to a great start Kezzstar!

The soreness is completely normal and to be expected if you're not used to jogging, hence why the program starts easy for several weeks.

Always allow at least one day off between each session to allow your body to heal and regain strength, this is important to prevent injury.

Persist with patience and you will succeed.

I started c25k last week and tomorrow I start week 2. :D Doing the stretches in the link I've pasted below have been really good, and since doing them after the last two runs, and on the rest days, I've not had any aches or pains.

http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/h ... a-run.aspx

I'm enjoying it so far, and I definitely run for a bit longer than I would do if I wasn't listening to be told when to slow down to a walk again.

Is anyone else doing this?

I started week 4 today and did fine, and feeling great! :D

Because I had a bad cold and took about 10 days off, I did week 3 twice, but am now back into the schedule.
