One of my workout buddies said to me earlier today "It does not matter how much muscle you have or how sculpted your six pack is there will be a fair amount of women out there who just do not like the male body"

Do you agree with me that he is right in some ways?

I've known several women who don't much care for the male form. They've been lesbians.

Really though, even bi or het women aren't all going to care that much for a sculpted body on a man. People do have their preferences and all. Mostly though, the people I have heard gripe the most about the male form have been het men. I'm not sure why so many of them seem to think their bodies are ridiculous and/or unlikeable, but a lot of them do. Maybe it's a self esteem thing. I don't know, but that seems like a fair guess to me.

It's a strange thing to say because, I assume he's not talking about lesbians,
so he thinks a large number of straight women 'don't like the male body' so does he mean they are attracted to someone's personality foremost?

Only because they always seem to be of the same two topics: your appearance and your poor luck with women.

I thought this thread is going to be about health issues.

I imagined someone disliking their male body because of its vulnerability of having a single X chromosome...
Or how society views and expects it; like how men are physically stronger and expected to work harder or something.

Or related to the endocrine system maybe I could learn something about males having issues with sensitivities and hormonal fluctuations... :o

Nope.
It's an entirely different issue altogether. :|

I would vote to move it elsewhere; either in love and dating, or other psychological conditions section.

I have no solutions related to that sort of issue or that sort of support seeking.

To me, the male form in general is simply something quite unaccustomed of me to view regardless how healthy or unhealthy it looked, or how attractive it's supposed to look aesthetically.

But otherwise, it's just that -- a body.

Not in a bizzare way, but because of my generally lack of male presence around my life. Added the fact that I don't feel any attraction towards anyone.

The solar system contains about eight billion people

About half of them are women

Not everyone likes the same thing

Diversity

Anyone could like or dislike anything for any reason or no reason

How much you like something could be involuntary, natural or subconscious

It’s not that I don’t like the male body; it’s that I care about personality, character, and intelligence more.

In my opinion, spending an excessive amount of time at the gym is a waste of time, so a guy with a “perfect,” chiseled body will automatically seem less interesting to me because I’m familiar with the time it takes to achieve it.

I’m not impressed by muscles or a six pack. Some women are, though. Every woman is different.

There are some that don't, and many that do.

Don't let a minority of people's opinions deter you from achieving your goals.

Don't listen to him and keep doing what you're doing. Who cares what he thinks. You're building your body for you, not him.
