Besides brain injury, what could cause ASD symptoms in an adult that were not detected in childhood?

I know prodromal schizophrenia can cause the onset of ASD-like symptoms starting in adulthood.

Schizoid PD and schizophrenia of the simple type.

OCD + depression can have an appearance of an ASD too.

That's the mental ones.

Deaf children also have the symptoms and so do abused children. ADHD can also mimic the symptoms and anxiety and social anxiety. OCD can too and PTSD.

Tourette's can sometimes look like ASD, especially because it usually goes along at least with some ADHD and OCD symptoms.

Childhood disintegrative disorder, also called Heller's syndrome. Sometimes it's even considered to be on the spectrum, but usually it's seen as an own unique disorder. I know a boy who has it. He lost all his skills short before his 6th birthday within a month and also developed severe epilepsy to it and had to learn walking and talking again. But even after he learned some stuff again, he was severely disabled.

Actually a lot of disorders can look like ASD under certain circumstances.

NVLD can share some of the same issues with ASD.
