In the opinion of my psychotherapist all my symptoms are trauma related.

I need to speak to him further on this matter next week to see if I can have my medical records updated with this information.

I must also remember to ask him what he thinks about my other diagnosis of schizotypal personality disorder as well. Chances are this was a mistake too.

I'm so f*****g angry right now.

What testing did he do?

Have you ever had a thorough neuropsychological evaluation?

Just through talking to him over several months. To be honest I wasn't tested for any of the above. As I remember all those diagnoses were made from informal chats.

All of my reports only say "opinion" so there was nothing definitive anyway.

I didn't even know there was such a test.

That's a f*****g win dude, as long as they treat your trauma and relieve your symptoms.

CPTSD is a b***h and can mimic all those things.
I'm really glad you've found this man who really gets it / you.
It'll be nice to get BPD off your record too, since you don't know why it was there.

Sending you best wishes for continued trauma recovery.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I was angry yesterday but I can't remember why now.

I asked him about the bpd and he said that sometimes reporters talk to police and they just come up with something to make a story. I told him that I can't remember being tested so he said that's more than likely the case even though its not very moral. It's not in my medical records.

I can't even remember being tested for adhd. All I know is that I somehow ended up getting meds for it and the aspergers was on the back of a disagreement between two psychiatrists. It's so confusing but I just need to put it behind me.

Are you taking ADHD meds, or anything for trauma?

I'd be angry too at first if I was being treated for years for something I didn't have. Then I'd try and move past that and get the right treatment.

I'd be angry too. It's frustrating that people affixed labels to her without even testing. That's worse than being misdiagnosed by someone who did an honest evaluation. I agree though, it's time to be happy and hopeful that you're on the right track and knowing we all have your back too!

I take adhd meds but at a much lower dose than I'm prescribed. I don't really think need it but I've been taking it for about 15 years now. I've also been using an antidepressant for the best part of 30 years that I just can't get off and i think that helps with the anxiety.

I also can get diazepam as an acute medication on prescription but I don't really bother with that much because I don't really go to places that trigger the ptsd.

That all sounds good.
People tend to forget that PTSD and CPTSD are by definition "stress disorders".
They need to be treated like anxiety is treated.

Too many people (even doctors) think it's a fear disorder.
Sure we may have some fears, but mostly it's our nervous system on overdrive.
