No. It's about a trans person who becomes involved with an IRA terrorist.

Adolescence of Utena. It's an anime film, but it has a canon wlw couple! And they kiss at the end! The series, Revolutionary Girl Utena, is also highly worth watching.
I also like She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (TV series) which has multiple queer relationships and also nonbinary characters!

Revolutionary Girl Utena is so amazing! Its one of the series i can watch over and over again and it never loses its magic! Same with the movie.

Another Utena fan!! There's just so much depth to it... love how every character is complex. (Yes. Even Akio is complex. Doesn't make him any less, er.)
YouTuber Noralities' video on it got me interested, and I don't regret it!

*fangirling also* another utena fan! Was also My first reaction :)
The duel songs, the symbolism, the Nanami episodes, i love everything about that series especially the characters! Anthy and Shiori are my faves though i really don't dislike any of the characters except maybe Akio haha.

Even the most toxic of Utena characters like Akio and Shiori have a great deal of depth to them. And honestly, considering what we see in Adolescence with Saionji, Miki, and Juri (plus Wakaba), maybe in an Ohtori without Akio others would learn to change too.
Nanami episodes are great. She does become a better person through them!
The symbolism is great and I will never look at roses the same way ever again.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it in this thread but I thought The Danish Girl was well made and pretty good.

I agree. Eddie Redmayne & Alicia Vikander gave great performances
under the skillful direction of Tom Hooper.

However, my LGBT-phobic mom believed that Einar Wegener was played by an openly trans actor.

(Seriously Mom, seriously?! )

I'm bad at remembering titles of films I didn't enjoy or have yet to see but of just the things mentioned so far in this thread, I'd recommend:

American Beauty (1999)
Angels In America (TV Mini Series 2003)
As Good As It Gets (1997)
Bad Education (2004)
Beautiful People (TV Series 2008–2009)
Billy Elliot (2000)
Breakfast With Scot (2007)
Farewell, My Concubine (1993)
For A Lost Soldier (1992)
Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
My Life In Pink (1997)
North Sea Texas (2011)
The Wizard Of Oz (1939)
Tomboy (2011)
Wild Tigers I Have Known (2006)
